Therapy for Individual Adults

WHO I HELP

For individuals 18 years and older who are new therapy, have had unproductive or negative experiences in therapy previously, or are therapists themselves!

I help people heal from past difficult experiences that continue to show up in the present. This might look like lingering painful feelings, even while logically knowing you don’t deserve to feel that way; or maybe you’re noticing having physical reactions that seems disproportionate to the current situation; or you find yourself repeating the same habits or patterns, despite trying your hardest to make changes. Our feelings, behaviors and nervous system responses are often life saving—but when we don’t have the tools, time, resources and/or capacity to process and recover from traumatic experiences, they can continue to show up and impact our lives in ways that feel outside of our control.

If you’re here, it’s a sign that you are ready for healing.

Anxiety & Worry

The constant over thinking—worrying about the past and the future with trouble focusing on the present. It’s exhausting.

Grief & Loss

Loss is a normal part of life, but sometimes our reaction to it can feel unexpected or never ending.

Relational Stress

The never ending negative cycles. Relationships give our lives meaning and clarity, but when they are strained they can bring up immense pain.

Depression

It can be like putting on goggles that transform the world into something grey, dull and so, so heavy. If only the world could stop for a moment so you can just rest.

Substance Use & Misuse

At it's core, substance use is a coping tool and sometimes a means for escape from pain. Over-reliance can lead to more challenges and feeling like you can’t get through hard moments without it.

Burnout

The extreme fatigue, like you can’t go on. You can’t tell if it's your job, the list of responsibilities that never gets shorter, the world, or just you. (Hint: it’s not just you.)

WHAT I HELP WITH

Most adults don’t come to therapy in a crisis, they come because they’re tired—tired of the same patterns, the same arguments, the same distance from themselves or the person they love. It isn’t for lack of trying that you’re in this place, but what you’re trying isn’t working. The good news: arriving at this place is often where change starts

Some of the symptoms I help people address and the challenges I’ve walked with them through include:

Self-worth & Identity

The gnawing feeling (or loud inner voice) that says ‘No matter what you do or how hard you work, it isn’t enough."‘

Trauma & PTSD

Big events and quiet, chronic wounds. Both are real and both are treatable. You didn’t cause it and you didn’t deserve it—but you can choose to heal from it.

Panic Attacks & Phobias

Whether it’s a specific fear or a sudden collapse, this is what happens when the body’s threat detection system goes into overdrive.

HOW I HELP

I use approaches that allow us to connect with experiences beyond what we can verbally communicate, and to see all parts of ourselves within the larger context(s) that shaped them.
