I AM SO HAPPY YOU’RE HERE.
Healing happens through connection—to yourself, to the people who matter, and to a therapist who genuinely cares.
We live an increasingly complicated, busy and unjust world. I am here to remind you that you are not crazy, but the world we live in sometimes is.
I would be honored to partner with you as you let go of what no longer serves you and discover what can grow in its place. And to hopefully have a little fun along the way.

“Working with Emily has been a truly healing and empowering experience. After a few difficult experiences with past therapists, I approached therapy with hesitation—but Emily’s warmth, compassion, and steady presence immediately made me feel safe, seen, and supported.”

ABOUT ME
I believe in the intrinsic strength of all people and trust that our internal systems naturally lean towards healing. That said, sometimes our experiences, upbringings—even our biology or physical bodies—can feel like they are creating barriers to living the life we want. I will be a partner with you as you look at and acknowledge all parts of your story so that you get to decide the narrative that drives it.
A part of this journey will surely be considering your life experiences and beliefs within the context of you family, your culture/s, and the larger systems around us all. I am always working to recognize my own positionality in the therapy room (as well as in my life outside of work). I consider it an honor to navigate these waters with clients as they emerge.
Prior to starting my own practice, I worked at various nonprofits providing community-based services (literally meeting people where they are at) for teenagers and their parents, caregivers and relatives; as well as at high schools across the Bay. More recently, I worked with individual adults and families through a private group practice in Berkeley focused on trauma treatment and EMDR. I am certified in Multidimensional Family Therapy and EMDR, and have training in somatic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I am originally from a tiny little mining town in Northern Nevada. Much of my passion for mental health work stems from my early life experiences and providing services that were too often inaccessible to me and my community.
